Cake Smash photographer Halifax 

I’m Lisa. I’m a West Yorkshire based photographer, living in Brighouse with my husband, 2 children and slightly daft black Labrador. I’ve been photographing families since 2015 and I love helping you capture precious memories and catalogue your family growing.

I want to help you have a lovely relaxed experience, so that you not only love your photographs but that you have a lovely experience taking them too.

My diary often fills up a few months in advance, so I highly recommend booking early.

This page gives you lots of information but if you have any questions or would prefer to chat, please give me call.

It’s always a privilege to be trusted with your family’s memories.

I absolutely love being a cake smash photographer, near Halifax in West Yorkshire. It’s just so much fun and I often go home covered in cake frosting. I love seeing the joy on your child’s face and it’s such a treat to see how your baby has grown in their 1st year since their newborn photographs. 

Families travel from across Yorkshire for their 1st birthday cake smash photography and regularly come from Halifax, Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford, Brighouse, Wakefield, and further afield to my studio in Elland.

CAKE SMASH PHOTOGRAPHER HALIFAX

Firstly

Contact me for availability. You may wish to schedule your cake smash for around 3 or 4 weeks before your little one’s birthday to make sure you have your pictures back in time or you may prefer to have the session on or close to the actual birthday. It’s totally up to you.

Your cake smash photoshoot session will take place on a weekday morning:

When booking you simply pay for your session – £50. This doesn’t include any images. You then come back and view your images 10 days later and choose which pictures you’d like to buy.

Your photoshoot is secured by paying a £50 booking fee.

Cake Smash

A 1st birthday cake smash photography session is a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved. Why not mark this amazing milestone with a 3 step cake smash and splash photoshoot.

step 1 | a first birthday photoshoot

Start with a classic 1st birthday photograph so you can look back on your newborn photographs and marvel at how much they’ve changed and grown.
You can bring their favourite outfit or use one of my studio cake smash outfits and have a lovely, classic first birthday photograph.

1st Birthday

Using outfits and props from the studio, your baby will have the opportunity to have the first taste of their birthday cake. It’s magical to watch your child exploring the new tastes and textures that come with a cake smash photography session, and the best thing is, they can make as much mess as they like as the mess is in my studio and not your home!

step 3 | the splash in the tub photographs

End your 1st birthday cake smash photoshoot with a splash in my tin tub to wash away that frosting. These make amazing photographs and I love seeing the expressions on your little one’s face as they splash the bubbles everywhere.
As a cake smash photographer, I’m used to being covered in frosting and cleaning up afterwards. Just bring a nice fluffy towel to have a snuggle in afterwards.

At Drawn by Light we capture memories at all the great milestones. We have photographed some beautiful Weddings throughout Yorkshire. We love our Maternity and Newborn shoots, and you can follow that with a Cake Smash for their 1st Birthday, all available at our Studio in Elland.

Lisa is a registered member of The Guild of Photographers.

faqs

Your maternity photoshoot will take between 40 minutes and an hour. When you come to the studio we will have a chat, go through any outfits that you’ve brought with you and style your session and then we will begin. 

It’s never too early to book and lots of my clients book straight after their newborn photosession. It’s also one of the sessions included in my first-year package. you can see details of that HERE
I recommend booking your cake smash photoshoot early and we will arrange it for around 3-4 weeks before your little one’s birthday. This way we can ensure that you’ve seen your gallery and ordered any products in time to reveal your fun cake smash photographs on your babies 1st birthday. The photos make great party invitations.

A cake smash & splash photography session lasts 45 minutes at my studio in Elland, West Yorkshire.

You’ll be invited back to the studio around 10 days to 2 weeks later to view your images and to choose your favourites. At this ordering session I can help you choose any photography products and packages that you’d like to purchase.

You need to bring the cake. I recommend bringing a nice outfit for your babies 1st year portrait, but you are of course free to use mine from the studio. I have a small selection of outfits in the studio that have been specially designed for cake smash photoshoots and I recommend using these for the cake smash part of your photography session if you’d like to keep your own clothes clean. You are of course free to bring your own if you prefer. If you’d like a “splash” in the tub then it’s a great idea to bring a fluffy towel to dry off.
