Choosing your wedding venue is one of the biggest decisions you'll make , and as a Yorkshire wedding photographer, I'm lucky enough to photograph weddings at some incredible venues across the county.
So rather than simply giving you a list of pretty places, I've pulled together 20 of my favourite Yorkshire wedding venues and shared what I love about photographing weddings at each one.
From grand country estates and elegant hotels to relaxed barns and industrial spaces, these are venues I'd happily recommend to couples looking for beautiful surroundings, great atmosphere and plenty of opportunities for natural wedding photography.

1. grantley hall
Starting with one of Yorkshire’s most luxurious wedding venues, Grantley Hall combines historic elegance with modern-day luxury. Nestled within stunning grounds, this 17th-century mansion offers exquisite indoor and outdoor spaces, therefore perfect for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. The attention to detail here is impeccable!
Photography tip: Make the most of the grounds and architecture for your portraits, but don't feel you need to spend ages away from your guests. A short portrait session is enough to capture the grandeur of Grantley Hall while keeping the day relaxed.
2. wharfedale grange
A stylish and chic barn venue, Wharfedale Grange has an incredible, rustic-meets-luxury vibe. From crystal chandeliers to the warm wood and brick interiors, it’s perfect for a countryside wedding that doesn’t compromise on elegance. The views of the Wharfe Valley create a magical backdrop for photos, and also with the stunning decor, it’s like something out of a fairytale!

3. the coniston hotel & country estate
A wedding venue that combines the beauty of the Dales with the luxury of a country estate. Lakeside views, a spectacular marquee, and plenty of space for guests to relax and enjoy the festivities, it’s an ideal spot for a wedding that embraces the best of Yorkshire’s outdoors. The outdoor space and stunning views makes this one of my favourite yorkshire wedding venues.
Photography tip: Don't overlook the wider estate when planning your portraits. The combination of water, countryside and open space gives you lots of variety, particularly around golden hour.
4. bunny hill
A rustic barn wedding with a sophisticated twist, Bunny Hill is also a dream come true. This stylish venue is nestled in the countryside and boasts an elegant barn, beautiful gardens, whilst also has views that stretch for miles. With accommodation right on-site, you’ll get to savor every moment of your wedding weekend without any worry about transport.
5. middleton lodge estate
Middleton Lodge Estate feels like stepping into a romantic English novel. With Georgian architecture and manicured gardens, this family-owned estate offering several unique venue options, including the dreamy Fig House and the beautiful walled gardens. It really is the epitome of country elegance and perfect for a timeless wedding celebration.
6. the tithe barn, bolton abbey
Surrounded by the incredible grounds of Bolton Abbey, The Tithe Barn is a rustic gem. Vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and breathtaking views of the Yorkshire Dales, it’s a venue that offers an authentic countryside experience. This is a venue that certainly delivers on both style and romance, perfect for couples wanting a rustic vibe with a splash of elegance.
7. east riddlesden hall
A National Trust property, East Riddlesden Hall offers historical charm with beautiful gardens and a lakeside setting. The 17th-century barn, with its exposed brick and rustic beams, creates a cozy atmosphere for any wedding celebration. Rise Hall is an impressive Georgian mansion perfect for a grand wedding celebration. Woodlands Hotel in Leeds is a stunning wedding venue that perfectly blends elegance and charm. 16. swinton estate
For a wedding venue with so many ceremony options Swinton estate offers a grand castle at Swinton Park Hotel with the option of exclusive use, a more rustic barn feel at the Deer House overlooking sweeping parkland, or a festival-inspired celebration in the Tipi at Swinton Bivouac, each venue brings its own distinctive atmosphere and unforgettable backdrop.
17. manor house, lindley, huddersfield
A beautifully restored manor, hidden away on the outskirts of Huddersfield. Manor House boasts a 1920's feel bar with huge wow factor. With a private garden, statement lighting, breathtaking decor and delicious dining, your guests will indeed remember it for the wow factor.
18. the venue, bowers mill, halifax
Bowers Mill is a former Textile Mill in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. Offering a unique industrial warehouse setting as well as all the charm of the original industrial features you would expect from a converted woollen mill. With stripped wood floors, exposed brick, wrought iron pillars, and high ceilings, surrounded by the Yorkshire countryside.
19. oulton hall
Oulton Hall, a beautiful 18th-century mansion, combines old-world elegance with modern comforts. With beautifully landscaped gardens and luxurious interiors, it’s an idyllic setting for a refined and romantic wedding celebration.
20. thirsk lodge barns
For a venue that’s as charming as it is versatile, Yorkshire Wedding Barn offers rustic charm in an elegant setting. With rolling hills, a picturesque lake, and also several barns to choose from, it’s a perfect location for an unforgettable countryside wedding.
