Wedding Photographer Woodlands Hotel, Leeds | Dean & Kim | Woodlands Wedding Photographer

A Wonderful Wedding and A trip down memory lane with lovely friends.

When Dean & Kim asked me to be their Wedding photographer at Woodlands, I was absolutely thrilled. It was a really heartwarming and personal experience for me for a number of reasons. Dean has been a really close friend of my brother since they were at Primary school together, I remember them playing out together in the garden. My brother was honoured to be Dean’s best man, and my family were guests at this lovely wedding. I also happen to love Woodlands, it holds very fond memories for me as it’s where my husband and I held our Wedding reception 8 years ago.

I arrived on the morning of the Wedding to see Kim’s Bridal preparations underway. She was so relaxed, surrounded by her mum & her bridesmaids, Kim’s cousin & Dean’s sister. Kim had worked so hard to ensure that everything was simple, elegant and beautiful. The rain threatened to make an appearance but all was well and the weather held to allow the guests to be seated outside and see Dean & Kim marry beneath the beautiful archway.

It’s the first time that I have ever seen the groom setting up the cake on the morning of his own Wedding. Dean has always been an amazing chef & baker, so it was no surprise when he built a successful career in the baking industry. The beautiful cake was from his employer, Hadfields and it looked delicious.

Kim looked absolutely stunningly beautiful, and Dean was overwhelmed to see his beautiful wife to be, as she walked down the steps at Woodlands, into the gardens. It was made even more special by Dean’s brother, Simon, who played the Wedding march on his guitar as Kim walked down the aisle.

We were so lucky to have lots of lovely places to take pictures at Woodlands and great weather also. The guests were treated to drink and canapé’s on the lawn, along with some lawn games whilst The new Mr & Mrs Bycroft and I explored the woodlands for some photographs.

Woodlands treated their guests to a gorgeous meal, despite a few technical hitches when the street was thrown into darkness due to a power cut. The staff dealt with this brilliantly, and it was all hands to the pump to make sure the first dance wasn’t in darkness. It made everything lovely and atmospheric.

We were treated to some lovely speeches, Dean, claimed to have put his speech together last minute but then proceeded to deliver the whole thing in rhyme. I get the feeling that he doesn’t know how clever and talented he really is.

I then left them to dance the night away in the fantastic marquee with their guests.

This was a really special day filled with family, friends and love.

I loved being part of Dean & Kims‘ gorgeous Wedding day. I could feel a wave of love all day and they were just thrilled to be marrying each other in front of all their friends and family. Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome and thanks to the Woodlands team for a brilliantly slick day.
